Do you spend more time trying to perfect what you do than you actually spend doing it? Are you one of those types of people who loves to learn and gather info and has to be sure everything is right before they step left? I have the same personality type and I have a serious question for you – how is that working for you?

Nothing Changes or Gets Done Until You Do

Learning and gathering information might make you feel better – after all, it does feel good to possess knowledge doesn’t it? But does anything actually happen simply from knowing all of the right ways to do something?

Take action on at least one small action item today and tomorrow you’ll feel much better about your direction.

Actionable Considerations for Action

You have to do something for something to happen. Nothing happens until you act.

You can’t wish or visualize your way to a plate of food, a fancy car, the partner or your dreams, or a successful business. Those things might make it easier for you to act, but you must still take action of some kind.

And the more you want to actually accomplish, the bigger the action you’ll need to take. One step at a time.

Because it’s not what you CAN do that matters most, it’s the actions you actually DO take. The amount of capability you possess will only serve to increase the number of options you do have, but taking no action leaves you no option.

And having plenty of options is not the same as choosing an option and taking action. Ever.

Your Beliefs Create Your Behavior

Your beliefs, values, and thoughts influence your behavior. For example, if you believe that you’re smart, capable, and good looking, your behavior will be different than if you believe that you’re simple minded, incapable and ugly.

Do you accept failure or believe it should be avoided at any cost? Do you believe in the goodness of people or do you think most people would be evil if given the chance? Do you love adventure or do you value safety?

As simple as these questions sound, the answers can have huge impacts on your life.

Action Creates Potential. Potential Creates Action.

When you do nothing you fail at everything.

Action creates potential. When you take action, you can learn from your results.

When you take action, things change. New opportunities become available. You might meet a new person that can help you get what you want. When you take the first step, the next step appears.

When you start moving, things start happening. Nothing happens while your learning, planning and plotting.

Things begin to change when your behavior changes. You’ve proven this to yourself thousands of times throughout your life. Your life changed when you started school, changed schools, and made new friends. Your life was different after you made permanent changes to your diet or started a new diet. Your life changed when you got in shape. Or your life changed when you fell out of shape and gained 20 pounds.

The point is, you’re already a change expert. You’ve already been through it.

You can’t just accumulate knowledge, daydream, or make grand plans.

You have to DO new things.

When your behavior changes, your life changes.
